Burbank??

BURBANK, CA

When ever I tell people who are originally from California that my best friend lives in Burbank the following question is always "WHY"? Why? Hell I don't know. Why are you an idiot? Why did you move from California to Utah. These are all questions that have no answers. Excecpt for why your an idiot. That is obvious. Friday night the 12th I boarded one of Skywest's pop cans with wings and was on my way to Burbank. After 90 minutes in the friendly skies I was in Burbank. The home of "The Price is Right". Home of America's smallest airport. I did see Sinbad at the baggage claim though. Do you think that maybe your not a big shot in Hollywood if you get your own baggage? Andy's wife had been planning a surprise birthday party for him for about two months and I decided to go out. Friday night was the big party at "Mockkneck Jims" who lives in North Hollywood. So most of the people there were in someway involved or aspiring to be involved with the entertainment industry. We ended up leaving Mockneck's house at about 2:30 which was 3:30 for me. The last time I stayed up that late was probably five years ago when Lez and I were dating. My usual tuck in is about 10-10:30. Saturday we got up and went snowboarding at Mountain High which is pretty much the areas only resort. So being that it was Saturday the place had a few million people packed into a resort about half the size of Sundance. Andy and I still had a good time making fun of people and watching people wreck and slide halfway down the hill on the sno....I mean ice. After a small two day drive home we went out to Barney's Beanery. A hip little restaurant in Hollywood. I love to say hip. The food was great and the people we went with were a blast. All except for one of their friends who also goes by the name of Andy. Andy might have pissed me off earlier when he snapped at Bell. Andy and Melissa's little girl who is six. Six year olds are crazy. Pure energy. I know. I have nieces and nephews. So this jerkass just can't handle that Bell wants to show him a picture in a photo album that is a few pages further than where he is at. Of course it would have been to hard to appease the six year old and look at the picture then go back to where you were previously and take up you picture looking once more. So ballbag snaps at her that he is looking at the book and will get there when he is ready. Okay now I hate you. So I may have ingnored him a bit after that. It made my night better. The next day (Sunday) we spent doing nothing but watching reality shows on MTV and making fun of people from New York. I flew home Sunday. If you have never been through Burbank Airport I highly recommend it. Make sure you pay attention though because you might step right over it and miss it comletely. Did I mention that it is small. It is always nice to see my friends, since we might only get to see them once a year sometimes. As for why they live in Burbank, you guessed it, Andy works in the entertainment industry and why did he move there. Well probably because it's hard to get into that industry in Utah unless you count selling living scriptures at a mall kiosk working in the entertainment industry. Close, but not the same. Thanks for having me out guys. Hopefully we will see you soon.

Oh, I almost forgot the highlight of my trip. I saw a guy in some hole of town almost fall of the roof of a restaurant. Talk about getting my hopes up without delivering. Thanks for nothing.

Mikey,

I am not embarrassed to say that I cried when you left...Really. Andy was laughing at me, but probably only to keep himself from crying, too. WE LOVE YOU GUYS SO MUCH. We miss you, too.

Its weird to live so far away from the place you grew up. In a way, it keeps you grounded and makes you appreciate the relationships you have with those “back home”. In another way it just serves to keep you detached from those that you truly love. We often feel conflicted about it, which makes us (well, ME, mostly) more emotional about it!

You flying out here for Andy’s 30th was the best birthday present anyone could ever give him. Just driving home from Mountain High listening to the two of you laugh was worth it. THANKS SO MUCH for helping me make his 30th birthday the best one ever. We had the BEST TIME with you.

Next time, we’ll get together with our whole families! Kiss your wife and squeeze your boy for me!

XOXOXO
MELLY

What's an idot?

Is that like an iPod? Some new fangled thing that I don't know about? If so, then kudos to you for being so tech savvy.

Well bone junior I sat here trying to come up with something quick witted to say, but all I came up with is -

Bear down, Chicago Bears, make every play clear the way to victory;
Bear down, Chicago Bears, put up a fight with a might so fearlessly.
We'll never forget the way you thrilled the nation with your T-formation.
Bear down, Chicago Bears, and let them know why you're wearing the crown.
You're the pride and joy of Illinois, Chicago Bears, bear down.

p.s. how are the eagles doing?

Ah the Eagles.

It wouldn't be a new year if I didn't get my heart broken by the Eagles.

Tonight I'm having a farewell ceremony in which I take down my Eagles banner, take a dump on it, and set it on fire.

Care to join?
